Once called a third-rate Kevin Smith–wait... this sounds... right?–Kevin Gallagher (please, call him Kev) has been podcasting since 2007. The radio bug bit Kev way back in 2002 when he was a senior in high school. A local radio station (RIP WYSP) put out a call for locals to send in demo tapes to become a DJ on their station. While Kev never pulled that trigger, the seed was planted, and after an injury took him out of wrestling, that seed sprouted into Happy Hour with Steel Tip. With the true inspiration being talk radio (Free FM branded stations had been popular at the time), Kev began podcasting in his "shock jock era"  😳. It's just as cringe as you think it is. As time went on, Kev began embracing the nerdy side of his personality and simply maturing. After taking time away from podcasting when his first child was born, Kev returned in 2016 with Everything is Awesome and found a new love of simply creating for artistic sake. This led to several live shows for festivals, performing live at conventions, and starting a business to help others start their podcasting journey.

Garrett joined "Kev's Podcasting Crew" during a Happy Hour bit called "Happy Hour Idol"–Mike and others who were part of Happy Hour had left the show and Kev had moved the show to a shared studio with The Stabcast. While Garrett didn't end up joining Happy Hour, he and Kev bonded over their shared love of Bruce Campbell and Kevin Smith. In a way, Garrett was responsible for the shift in tone of Kev's podcasting–moving away from "shock jock" and embracing the nerdier side. The two hosted a short-lived Kevin Smith podcast that turned into a short-lived pop culture podcast. With Everything is Awesome, Garrett is another frequent guest and often is part of the live version of the show; either as a guest or co-host when Mike can't make it.
